A strange bug queen of some sort. I kinda like the idea so this might just be a work in progress that I'll finish?! whaaaat? but Its far from a finished piece, I might even scrap this interpretation and do another altogether. Here's a not so flattering render of her.

Day thirteen

I AM A TERRIBLE HUMAN BEING. I was so absent minded today I forgot about my daily painting! I looked at the clock and noticed it was 11:30. I STILL HAD TIME!

Speed practice I guess. Maybe I'll input those in my days somehow... I feel cheap.

Day twelve

So, I had decided to draw a person portrait thingy, here it is! Unfortunately, it took me a while and although I went for a less realistic approach, she ended up looking anime-ish. Oh well. Soon I will do a full observation  drawing of a person...  maybe not tomorrow though!

       Well. I am not proud of this one at all. I just ended up turning in circles, not really going anywhere with it. maybe if I had put more time into it, but I didn't have that today... gotta move forward! I will try an underwater scene again, when I'm more comfortable with painting!

Day Five

       For this one, I used reference and went for a children's story book illustration feeling. I also used a couple of brushes to tweak it afterwards. In this work, the colors are way more saturated than what I am used to. I personally like it more than the others so I think I will be using more reference. After all, it is the best teacher!

        One day, when I'll have more time on my hands, I will submit a fully detailed painting. Adding details is the most tedious part for me and unfortunately, the most time consuming.

       I am already starting to feel more ease in Photoshop. Its amazing how it feels only after three days of this.

First step!

       I am currently a 3D animation and CGI student at Dawson college. However, I aspire to eventually become a concept artist. This past semester, I had started to falter and almost ceased to paint in Photoshop except the occasional inspiration and character design class. The more time passed, the more I felt my skills decrease every time I worked on simple projects. I have now taken a resolve, to paint every day. Even for a meager 10 minutes, I will have to do it if I am to become what I want to be.

     Here is day 1, the 15th of November 2011.
